Native from South America, it is, like other species from the Passifloraceae family, characterized by its beautiful flowers. It is round and its skin can go from a mulberry o brown purple. The interior of the fruit shown small seeds covered with flavorful and aromatic greenish-orange pulp.
It is consumed by itself, or in smoothies or ice cream.  It’s known for its aroma and is commonly used in sweet and sour sauces for fish and poultry.

Just like Maracuya, the content sweetens as the skin wrinkles, so the consumers can decide how sweet o sour they want their passion fruits to be, according to the wrinkles in the skin
