Passion fruit belongs to the passion fruits.

When the fruit is ripe, it changes from a deep green color to a bright yellow. Its rind is thick and smooth, although over time it tends to wrinkle due to the natural ripening process.
They are very aromatic fruits and have a very juicy flesh (the seeds are covered by a thick membrane with a gelatinous texture)

When they are ripe, their peel or skin becomes wrinkled and that is the right time to consume them. On the other hand, if we check that it is still smooth and greenish, it is best to wrap them in sheets of newspaper and keep them at room temperature for a few days.

Once ripe, the fruit can be put in the fridge for better conservation.

Almost 75% of the pulp is water.

It is very rich in minerals and vitamins, such as vitamin C, potassium, phosphorus and magnesium.

Its caloric intake is very low and a high fiber content.
